Our client is seeking a Director of Construction to lead estimating and preconstruction efforts for a large-scale real estate development portfolio. This newly created Florida-based position will serve as the right-hand to senior leadership and play a key role in the delivery of retail, commercial, and industrial developments.

Job Description

  • Lead all estimating and preconstruction activities across vertical and civil projects
  • Manage and mentor a team of five estimators while supporting a broader construction group of 40 professionals
  • Develop detailed budgets, cost plans, value engineering initiatives, and project feasibility studies
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on major development projects, including large-scale warehouse and retail developments
  • Drive strategic planning, procurement, and cost-control initiatives throughout the project lifecycle

The Successful Applicant

  • Extensive preconstruction and estimating experience within commercial construction or development
  • Previous experience with retail projects is strongly preferred
  • Background with a developer, owner, or reputable general contractor
  • Project Executive candidates with a heavy preconstruction focus will also be considered
