Our client is an established global life sciences organization that develops specialized instrumentation and consumable solutions used across bioprocessing, biologics development, and other critical life science applications. The company has built an established position through technically differentiated products, deep application expertise, and close partnerships with customers operating in complex, highly regulated environments.

Today, the organization is investing heavily in the next stage of its Bio business, one of the company's largest and most strategic growth platforms. With an established foundation and significant whitespace ahead, leadership is focused on strengthening the commercial organization and creating the structure needed to scale the business substantially over the coming years.

Job Description

Take a leadership role in shaping and executing the commercial strategy for a growing Bio business across North America. This position will combine strategic planning, market development, and cross-functional leadership to identify growth opportunities and build the commercial capabilities needed to scale the business.

  • Develop and execute commercial strategies that drive sustainable growth, market expansion, and increased customer penetration across North America.
  • Identify and prioritize new market opportunities, customer needs, and areas of commercial whitespace across the bioprocessing portfolio.
  • Translate broader business objectives into clear priorities and actionable commercial initiatives, ensuring effective execution across the organization.
  • Partner closely with Product, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and technical teams to align resources and accelerate key growth initiatives.
  • Build greater structure, processes, and commercial discipline to support the organization as it continues to scale.
  • Serve as a strong commercial voice within the business, influencing senior stakeholders and driving alignment around strategic priorities.
  • Leverage customer, market, and competitive insights to guide portfolio strategy, investment decisions, and long-term business planning.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will be an experienced commercial leader with a strong understanding of the life sciences market and the executive presence to operate effectively across a complex, growing organization. They will combine technical and market knowledge with a highly proactive, entrepreneurial approach and the ability to turn strategy into execution.

  • 10+ years of progressive commercial experience within life sciences, bioprocessing, biologics, or a closely related technical market.
  • Demonstrated success in commercial leadership, business development, product/portfolio leadership, or general management, ideally with responsibility for driving growth across a significant business or product line.
  • Strong understanding of bioprocessing, biologics manufacturing, or adjacent life science workflows, with the ability to engage credibly with both technical and commercial stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of identifying growth opportunities, setting priorities, and driving initiatives through execution in a fast-paced or evolving organization.
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills, with the confidence to influence senior leadership and present business recommendations to executive-level stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, bringing together cross-functional teams and driving accountability even without direct reporting relationships.
  • Entrepreneurial and highly self-directed, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, get to the root of complex issues, and create structure where processes may not yet exist.
