As they continue to grow and innovate, they are always seeking to make their production more efficient, while maintaining a safe environment.Job DescriptionMap, schedule, and conduct regular plant safety audits to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety policiesIntegrate audit plans and corrective actions into standard operating tools such as 5S and Tier accountability programsLead root cause analysis and corrective action discussions with employees and leadershipUtilize problem-solving methods such as 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and 8DTrack actions on Tier boards and include effectiveness checks in audit schedulesDevelop, update, and maintain EHS programs, policies, and training, including:Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), forklift safety, hazard communication, ergonomics, PPEEmergency response, respiratory protection, confined space proceduresEnvironmental standards (e.g., ISO 14000)Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, NFPA, stormwater, etc.)Coordinate and deliver EHS training programs for all employeesConduct safety orientation training for new hiresReview and audit EHS programs and policies to ensure alignment with current regulatory and corporate requirementsOversee the investigation of all safety-related incidentsManage full documentation, including initial reports and final summariesLead root cause and corrective action processesEnsure follow-up audits confirm issues are fully resolvedManage Workers' Compensation cases and the Return-to-Work program in collaboration with Human ResourcesCoordinate and support internal and external EHS inspectionsWork with maintenance and other teams to ensure readiness for auditsInclude ergonomic evaluations as part of safety auditsLead and facilitate site safety committee meetingsManage safety committee activities, processes, and initiativesDrive behavioral-based safety programs to promote proactive risk preventionServe as the primary point of contact for regulatory inspections (e.g., OSHA, EPA)Maintain and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all chemicals used onsiteSupport Human Resources with safety incentive programs and initiativesStay current on changes to relevant safety and regulatory standards (OSHA, ACGIH, NFPA, etc.)Maintain safety communications, including postings, bulletin boards, and signage throughout the facilityMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
