The organization supports utility, renewable energy, battery storage, industrial, and petrochemical projects across Texas and beyond.Job DescriptionDuties and Responsibilities:· Develop the technical basis of design, engineering assumptions, scope boundaries, exclusions, and design criteria for project development efforts.· Prepare conceptual engineering deliverables including one-line diagrams, equipment layouts, bills of material, equipment specifications, data sheets, and procurement inquiry packages.· Support estimating activities by developing quantity takeoffs, labor assumptions, equipment selections, schedule inputs, and technical clarifications.· Collaborate with estimators, project managers, procurement, engineers, and discipline specialists to develop complete and estimate-ready project definitions.· Evaluate client requirements, drawings, specifications, and existing site information to identify technical risks, scope gaps, constructability concerns, and design uncertainties.· Apply approved engineering standards, product baselines, templates, and governance requirements throughout project development.· Participate in technical reviews and interdisciplinary coordination meetings supporting proposal development.· Document engineering assumptions, lessons learned, and continuous improvement opportunities to strengthen future project development efforts.· Support the transition of projects into detailed engineering by providing complete and well-documented project development packages.· Perform other duties as assigned.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. MPI encourages applications from minorities, women, the disabled, protected veterans and all other qualified applicants.The Successful ApplicantRequired Qualifications:· Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.· Typically 3+ years of progressively responsible engineering experience supporting project development, conceptual engineering, estimating, proposal development, FEL/FEED, or EPC project execution.· Ability to develop conceptual engineering solutions and technical documentation with limited supervision.· Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.· Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.Preferred Qualifications· Experience supporting electrical infrastructure, substations, industrial facilities, renewable energy, or utility projects.· Experience developing bills of material, equipment specifications, procurement packages, and conceptual engineering deliverables.· Experience supporting estimating, proposals, project development, or front-end engineering activities.· Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.· Familiarity with engineering standards, document management systems, and digital engineering tools.What's on OfferCompetitive salary ranging from $110,000 to $160,000.Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage, company-paid disability and life insurance, 401(k) with company match, flexible spending accounts, and additional programs designed to support employee well-being and financial securityInterested?
