Save Job Back to Search Job Description Summary Similar JobsWork directly on technically complex, high-impact BESS projectsCombine electrical engineering expertise with hands-on field experienceAbout Our ClientA nationally recognized engineering and project delivery firm supporting complex energy infrastructure projects across the U.S. The company provides engineering, construction management, commissioning, and owner's representative services for utility-scale BESS, renewable energy, power generation, and electrical infrastructure projects.Job DescriptionProvide on-site electrical engineering support throughout BESS construction, installation, commissioning, and energization.Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, equipment specifications, calculations, and construction packages.Oversee the installation of BESS containers, inverters, transformers, switchgear, protection systems, and MV/LV electrical infrastructure.Perform field inspections to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, codes, and quality standards.Coordinate with engineering teams, EPC contractors, vendors, commissioning personnel, utilities, and project stakeholders.Review and respond to RFIs, submittals, field changes, and technical issues.Troubleshoot electrical installation, equipment, and commissioning issues in the field.Support testing, startup, system integration, and energization activities.Monitor contractor performance, construction progress, safety, and workmanship.Assist with punch lists, as-built documentation, turnover packages, and final project closeout.Travel regularly to project sites across the United States.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. MPI encourages applications from minorities, women, the disabled, protected veterans and all other qualified applicants.The Successful ApplicantA successful Electrical Engineer should have:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.Electrical engineering experience supporting power generation, renewable energy, utility, or industrial projects.Strong field experience involving electrical construction, installation, testing, commissioning, or startup.Experience with BESS projects is strongly preferred.Knowledge of medium-voltage systems, transformers, switchgear, inverters, protection and controls, grounding, and power distribution.Ability to interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, specifications, and construction documents.Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards, and applicable electrical safety requirements.Strong communication, troubleshooting, and contractor-coordination skills.Ability to work independently in an active construction environment.Willingness to travel extensively based on project needs.What's on OfferCompetitive hourly rate of $85 to $95, depending on experience plus per diem.Competitive compensation and benefits packageTravel expenses and accommodations providedOpportunity to support utility-scale BESS projects nationwideExposure to construction, commissioning, startup, and energizationLong-term career growth within the expanding energy-storage industryInterested?
