A growing design-build construction and real estate development organization is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager / Estimator to oversee electrical construction projects from conceptual budgeting through final closeout. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of electrical systems, estimating methodologies, project planning, subcontractor management, cost control, and client relationship management

Job Description

Estimating & Preconstruction

  • Prepare conceptual, schematic, design-development, and final electrical estimates.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documentation to develop accurate quantity takeoffs.
  • Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and vendor proposals.
  • Develop detailed project budgets, cost analyses, and value engineering recommendations.
  • Identify project risks and opportunities during the estimating process.
  • Assist with bid preparation, proposal development, and contract negotiations.
  • Collaborate with design, engineering, and construction teams during preconstruction planning.



Project Management

  • Manage electrical construction projects from award through closeout.
  • Develop project schedules, procurement plans, and construction execution strategies.
  • Monitor project budgets, forecasting, and cost performance.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal project teams.
  • Review and process change orders, RFIs, submittals, and pay applications.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular project meetings and provide status updates to leadership and clients.
  • Support field operations by resolving technical and schedule-related challenges.
  • Manage project documentation, reporting, and closeout activities.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical estimating, project management, or a combination of both.
  • Experience managing commercial, multifamily, industrial, or mixed-use construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction methods, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Proficiency with estimating software, project management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of project cost control.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • OSHA and industry certifications are a plus.



Preferred Skills

  • Design-build project experience.
  • Experience with self-perform electrical work and subcontractor management.
  • Knowledge of scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera.
  • Ability to perform conceptual estimating and value engineering.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with a proactive and collaborative approach.
