This position is responsible for end-to-end purchasing and materials planning, supporting both production and new product introduction (NPI). The Senior Buyer plays a key role in ensuring material availability, managing supplier relationships, and executing cost reduction strategies while operating in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Job Description



Responsibilities:

  • Manage procurement of complex electronic components and commodities
  • Plan and execute purchasing activities based on MRP requirements
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and supplier agreements
  • Ensure on-time material delivery to support production schedules
  • Resolve supplier issues including quality, delivery, and pricing discrepancies
  • Support NPI and ECO processes, including material readiness and transitions
  • Develop inventory reduction and supply chain optimization strategies
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Program Management, and Quality teams
  • Track KPIs and generate reporting to measure supplier and material performance
  • Identify and qualify alternative suppliers as needed

The Successful Applicant



Ideal Candidate:

  • 8+ years of purchasing experience in electronics or contract manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of electronic components and/or PCB/bare boards
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments
  • Proven ability to negotiate cost savings and manage supplier performance
  • ERP experience required (Syteline preferred)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • APICS CPIM or similar certification is a plus
  • Must meet ITAR requirements (US Person status required)
