Job Description

As an Estimator - Construction - Manhattan, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing detailed conceptual and hard-bid estimates
  • Analyzing drawings, specifications, and scope documents
  • Performing quantity takeoffs and pricing exercises
  • Soliciting and evaluating subcontractor and vendor proposals
  • Developing budgets during the preconstruction phase
  • Estimating custom millwork, cabinetry, stone, metal, and specialty finishes
  • Identifying value engineering opportunities
  • Assisting with bid packages and subcontractor scope reviews
  • Maintaining historical cost databases and estimating tools
  • Working closely with Project Managers, architects, and ownership teams
  • Preparing change order pricing and cost analyses
  • Supporting project handoffs to operations teams

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have:

  • 3+ years of estimating experience within construction
  • Experience estimating luxury residential interior renovations
  • Proven experience with brownstones, penthouses, duplexes, townhouses, or luxury apartments
  • Strong understanding of custom millwork, cabinetry, stone, and specialty finishes
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings
  • Experience performing detailed takeoffs and cost analyses
  • Knowledge of subcontractor pricing and procurement processes
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, Procore, Excel, and estimating software
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
