Job Description

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to define project scopes and requirements.
  • Analyze project documents, such as blueprints and specifications, to calculate accurate costs.
  • Source and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to determine the most cost-effective options.
  • Maintain and update cost databases to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Monitor project budgets and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and suggest alternative solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards during the estimation process.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Estimator should have:

  • Proficiency in construction cost estimation and related software.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
  • Experience with sourcing and evaluating subcontractor and supplier bids.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with project teams and clients.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in construction estimation.
  • Adaptability and problem-solving skills to handle project challenges and changes.
