Job Description

The Estimator - Top ENR - D.C. will be responsible for:

  • Preparing detailed conceptual and hard-bid estimates for healthcare and multifamily construction projects
  • Analyzing project drawings, specifications, and scope documents to perform accurate quantity takeoffs
  • Soliciting, review, and level subcontractor and vendor bids, ensuring complete scope coverage
  • Developing budgets, bid packages, and proposals aligned with project goals
  • Collaborating with project managers, executives, and clients during preconstruction
  • Identifying value engineering opportunities while maintaining quality and code compliance
  • Understand and account for healthcare-specific requirements (e.g., infection control, phasing, occupied renovations)
  • Evaluating project risks, constructability challenges, and market conditions
  • Maintaining and refine estimating databases, unit costs, and historical pricing
  • Participating in client meetings, design reviews, and presentations as needed

The Successful Applicant

The Estimator - Top ENR - D.C. should have:

  • 5-10+ years of estimating experience with a general contractor
  • Proven experience estimating on a variety of construction projects (commercial, healthcare, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of complex systems, particularly MEP, code compliance, and healthcare regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents at all design phases
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communicator who thrives in a collaborative, team-based environment
  • Experience with estimating and preconstruction tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, Sage, PlanSwift, OST, etc.)
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple bids simultaneously
