The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate, comprehensive cost estimates for high-end residential interior projects. This individual will collaborate closely with internal project teams, subcontractors, and external design partners to ensure budgets are well-developed and aligned with project expectations. Candidates with diverse construction backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Experience in luxury residential is a plus, but not required.

Our client is a premier residential interior general contractor specializing in full gut renovations of luxury apartments and penthouses throughout Manhattan. They partner with high-net-worth clients, top-tier architects, and leading designers to deliver exceptional, detail-driven spaces.

Job Description

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Develop detailed cost estimates for full gut residential renovations
  • Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications
  • Solicit, review, and level subcontractor bids
  • Work closely with Project Managers and design teams during preconstruction
  • Assist in budgeting, value engineering, and cost analysis
  • Identify scope gaps, risks, and cost-saving opportunities
  • Maintain pricing databases and subcontractor/vendor relationships
  • Support client-facing cost discussions as needed

The Successful Applicant

A successful Estimator should have:

  • 7+ years of estimating experience in construction
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Procore, or similar)
  • NYC construction experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is a plus
