Estimator

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze construction drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, and bid documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for civil site work, including:
  • Mass excavation and grading
  • Stormwater, sanitary, and water utilities
  • Roadway, curbing, sidewalks, and paving
  • Concrete structures and miscellaneous site improvements
• Develop detailed, accurate cost estimates using estimating software and spreadsheets.
• Solicit, review, and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Evaluate project risks, constructability issues, and value engineering opportunities.
• Prepare bid summaries, cost breakdowns, and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and operations staff during bid preparation and handoff.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and scope review meetings as required.
• Maintain historical cost data and pricing databases.
• Assist with change order pricing and post-bid clarifications when needed.
• Ensure estimates comply with company standards, contract requirements, and safety considerations.
