Job Description

Key Responsibilities of Building and Construction Estimator:

  • Review plans, specifications, and project documents.
  • Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
  • Develop accurate bid proposals and project budgets.
  • Identify project risks and value engineering opportunities.
  • Maintain estimating databases and historical cost information.
  • Collaborate with project teams during preconstruction and project handoff.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when required.
  • Ensure estimates are completed accurately and within deadlines.

The Successful Applicant

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of estimating experience in construction.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing.
  • Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
