Job Description

  • Oversee a portfolio of multiple concurrent construction projects throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to project superintendents and field personnel.
  • Evaluate project performance and proactively identify areas requiring operational support.
  • Assist field teams with planning, sequencing, logistics, subcontractor management, and means and methods.
  • Support project teams in resolving field challenges while maintaining accountability and ownership at the project level.
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure safety, quality, schedule, and productivity objectives are achieved.
  • Partner with operations leadership to standardise best practices and enhance project delivery.
  • Foster strong relationships with subcontractors, clients, and project stakeholders.
  • Monitor resource allocation across projects and recommend solutions to improve overall performance.
  • Drive successful execution of projects ranging from commercial interiors to historic restoration and hospitality developments.

The Successful Applicant

  • Proven experience as a Senior Superintendent, General Superintendent, or equivalent field leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success managing and supporting multiple projects simultaneously, ideally four to five active projects at once.
  • Extensive construction experience within one or more of the following sectors:
    • Hospitality
    • Food & Beverage
    • Restaurants
    • Commercial Interiors
    • Historic Restoration
    • Building Rehabilitation
    • Adaptive Reuse and Revitalisation Projects
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods.
  • Experience working with specialty restoration scopes such as masonry, roofing systems, waterproofing, façade restoration, windows, doors, architectural metals, ornamental plaster, and structural stabilisation is highly desirable.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to mentor and develop field personnel while building trust and accountability.
  • Strong subcontractor relationships and field coordination expertise.
  • High emotional intelligence with a collaborative leadership style.
  • Ability to travel throughout Washington, DC and the surrounding Beltway region.
