Job Description

The Healthcare Construction Manager - Owner's Representative will be responsible for:

  • Project Planning and Execution:
    • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets for hospital and medical construction projects.
    • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met.
    • Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Budget and Cost Management:
    • Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective solutions.
    • Review and approve invoices, change orders, and payment requests.
    • Negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and healthcare industry standards.
    • Conduct quality inspections to maintain high construction standards.
    • Address any deviations from project specifications promptly.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    • Facilitate effective communication among project team members, hospital staff, and external partners.
    • Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on project status, risks, and achievements.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify potential risks related to construction delays, budget overruns, or design changes.
    • Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Healthcare-Specific Considerations:
    • Understand the unique requirements of hospital and medical facilities (e.g., infection control, patient safety, specialized equipment).
    • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to address specific needs during construction.

The Successful Applicant

The Healthcare Construction Manager - Owner's Representative should have:

  • 10+ years of project management experience
  • Experience managing construction projects in healthcare settings (REQUIRED)
  • Proficiency in project management software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS, etc.)
  • Strong leadership, problem solving, and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and industry best practice
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field
