They partner with electric utilities, renewable energy developers, and industrial clients to deliver substation, transmission, and distribution projects that improve reliability and support future energy demands.Job DescriptionLead the engineering and design of substations ranging from 12kV, 34.5kV, 69kV, 115kV, 138kV, 230kV, 345kV, and 500kV.Develop and review substation one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment layouts.Perform electrical calculations including grounding, short-circuit, load flow, equipment sizing, and cable ampacity studies.Lead physical design efforts involving bus arrangements, relay panels, control houses, foundations, conduit systems, and equipment placement.Specify and evaluate major substation equipment including power transformers, circuit breakers, disconnect switches, instrument transformers, surge arresters, capacitor banks, and reactors.Coordinate engineering activities with civil, structural, protection & controls, transmission line, telecommunications, and construction teams.Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) when required.Interface directly with utility clients, developers, contractors, and project stakeholders.Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and quality oversight to junior and mid-level engineers.Support project proposals, scope development, scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.Conduct engineering reviews and ensure compliance with NESC, IEEE, NEC, ANSI, and utility design standards.Support construction activities, respond to RFIs, review submittals, and assist with commissioning and energization efforts.Identify technical risks and develop engineering solutions to maintain project schedules and budgets.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
