An industry-leading engineering consulting firm is seeking a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to support and expand its overhead transmission and power delivery practice. This role offers the opportunity to serve as a technical leader, manage client relationships, mentor engineers, and lead the design and delivery of critical utility infrastructure projects across California and the Western U.S.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the responsible engineer and primary client point of contact for transmission and power delivery projects.
  • Lead overhead transmission line engineering, routing, and design efforts.
  • Prepare, review, and seal engineering calculations, reports, and construction documents.
  • Support business development activities and expand relationships with existing and new utility clients.
  • Perform transmission line structure analysis and foundation design.
  • Develop engineering specifications, design criteria, and technical documentation.
  • Lead project planning, cost estimating, proposal development, and QA/QC reviews.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, stakeholders, and field personnel to ensure project success.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Travel to project and client sites as required.

The Successful Applicant

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 8+ years of transmission line or related civil/structural engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Strong experience with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, MFAD, and L-Pile.
  • Experience with PLS-TOWER is a plus.
  • Proven background in QA/QC, client-facing project leadership, and overhead transmission line design.
