About Our Client

A leading Southern California General Contractor is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee field operations for complex HCAI/OSHPD healthcare construction projects throughout the Los Angeles market.

The ideal candidate is a proven healthcare construction leader with extensive experience managing occupied hospital renovations, acute care facilities, medical office buildings, surgical centers, central utility plants, and other highly regulated healthcare environments. This individual must possess exceptional planning and scheduling abilities and have a proven track record leading projects from groundbreaking through turnover.

Job Description

Our Superintendent will be responsible for:

  • Leading all field operations from mobilization through project closeout.
  • Managing complex HCAI/OSHPD healthcare projects valued up to $40M+.
  • Developing, maintaining, and driving detailed short-term and master project schedules.
  • Coordinating subcontractors, consultants, inspectors, hospital staff, and project stakeholders.
  • Managing site logistics, phasing plans, infection control measures, and interim life safety requirements.
  • Overseeing quality control, inspections, punch lists, and turnover activities.
  • Conducting subcontractor coordination meetings and daily planning sessions.
  • Managing work within active healthcare environments while minimizing disruptions to hospital operations.
  • Driving project milestones while maintaining budget, schedule, quality, and safety objectives.
  • Ensuring compliance with all HCAI/OSHPD requirements and healthcare construction standards.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal Superintendent will have:

  • 8+ years of Superintendent experience managing HCAI/OSHPD healthcare construction projects.
  • Stable career history with reputable healthcare-focused general contractors.
  • Proven experience leading healthcare projects valued up to $40M+.
  • Demonstrated success managing projects from preconstruction planning through final owner turnover.
  • Extensive occupied hospital renovation experience.
  • Strong expertise in healthcare construction sequencing, logistics, inspections, and commissioning.
  • Exceptional scheduling abilities with a proven track record of driving critical path activities.
  • Experience coordinating complex MEP systems and healthcare infrastructure upgrades.
  • Strong leadership and subcontractor management skills.
  • Ability to independently lead field operations on technically challenging projects.
