Job Description

  • Provide technical expertise supporting manufacturing operations, quality initiatives, process development, and customer requirements.
  • Conduct metallurgical evaluations, failure analysis investigations, and process improvement projects involving metal tubing production.
  • Review and determine disposition of nonconforming materials, customer concerns, and corrective action activities.
  • Develop and execute equipment and process validation protocols, including IQ, OQ, and PQ documentation.
  • Serve as a technical mentor and resource for less experienced engineering and manufacturing personnel.
  • Lead root cause investigations using Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, SPC, statistical analysis, and Design of Experiments (DOE) methodologies.
  • Manage engineering projects including equipment installations, cost reduction initiatives, and operational improvements.
  • Assess and mitigate technical risks associated with materials, manufacturing processes, and production equipment.
  • Partner directly with customers and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for product and process enhancement.
  • Drive sustainable improvements that enhance productivity, product quality, and manufacturing performance.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably within metals processing environments.
  • Proven ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing setting and supporting production operations directly.
  • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, statistical analysis, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Knowledge of process validation, equipment qualification, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Minitab software.
  • Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD platforms preferred.
  • Background in metal forming, heat treatment, tube manufacturing, or related metallurgical processes is highly desirable.
  • Six Sigma certification is advantageous but not required.
