Job Description

Reporting directly into the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve process and equipment issues within extrusion and compounding operations
  • Develop, refine, and optimize manufacturing processes through equipment and tooling improvements
  • Standardize processes by creating documentation, SOPs, and training materials for production teams
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
  • Monitor and improve key production metrics, including efficiency, yield, and scrap reduction
  • Maintain and enhance process documentation, ensuring accuracy of specifications and bill of materials
  • Support new product introductions, including trials, process development, and production readiness
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and implement performance improvements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with production, quality, and engineering teams to deliver operational goals
  • Ensure compliance with quality and environmental standards and internal procedures

The Successful Applicant

  • Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Plastics Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
  • Proven experience in a process engineering role within a manufacturing environment
  • Background in extrusion processing; experience with plastics or continuous manufacturing is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience working with data systems, manufacturing analytics, or SCADA platforms
  • Ability to analyze process data and implement improvements using structured problem-solving techniques
  • Exposure to smart manufacturing or predictive modelling approaches is advantageous
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with shop floor teams and leadership
  • Hands-on, solutions-oriented mindset with a focus on operational excellence
