Job Description

  • Support and optimize extrusion-based manufacturing processes through hands-on engineering involvement.
  • Develop, document, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve consistency and quality.
  • Evaluate and introduce new quality control equipment and measurement technologies.
  • Train production staff on inspection techniques, operational best practices, and quality standards.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and validate measurement and inspection tools.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing processes directly on the production floor to improve efficiency and output.
  • Analyze and optimize key equipment systems, including calibration tools, vacuum systems, and in-line measurement devices.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste, increase throughput, and enhance process reliability.
  • Translate customer requirements into practical, manufacturable solutions for custom engineered products.
  • Support quoting and pre-production activities by developing preliminary process plans.
  • Generate and manage Manufacturing Orders (MOs) to ensure smooth production execution.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, and leadership to meet operational goals.
  • Support applied research and development efforts, including testing new materials and refining processes.
  • Document newly developed processes to ensure repeatability and scalability.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, ideally within extrusion or plastics processing environments.
  • Hands-on experience with process troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with quality control processes, measurement tools, and inspection techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams within a production environment.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing or process optimization methodologies is a plus.
  • Understanding of material behavior and processing parameters preferred.
  • Experience supporting custom or engineered-to-order manufacturing environments is beneficial.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
