This role offers the opportunity to learn directly from senior estimators and work on meaningful projects that shape New York's infrastructure.Job Description Mechanical Estimator - Manhattan, NY Review plans, specifications, and bidding documents to develop a complete understanding of project scope and requirements.Attend pre-bid meetings, visit project sites, and assess existing conditions to support accurate estimating.Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors while expanding a network of qualified partners.Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure complete project coverage.Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for labor, material, and equipment.Develop labor productivity estimates, equipment costs, and overall project pricing.Complete estimating worksheets and review estimates for accuracy, completeness, and competitiveness prior to final bid submission.Prepare bid packages, proposals, qualifications, and related documentation.Assist with constructability reviews, value engineering efforts, means and methods evaluations, and budgeting exercises.Maintain estimating databases and historical cost information for future reference.Support project buyout activities and facilitate the successful handoff of awarded projects to operations teams.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
