Job Description

  • Lead capital and equipment improvement projects from concept through commissioning and closeout.
  • Develop project scopes, technical specifications, cost estimates, and implementation plans.
  • Manage project budgets ranging from approximately $10K to $5M while ensuring delivery on schedule and within approved costs.
  • Coordinate engineering design, equipment fabrication, installation, and start-up activities.
  • Partner closely with production, maintenance, and technical teams to solve equipment and process-related challenges.
  • Support long-term plant investment planning through budgeting, scope development, and vendor quotation activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing production capacity, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop contractor safety requirements and lead project-related safety meetings.
  • Monitor project progress and spending, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Evaluate suppliers and coordinate purchasing activities through internal procurement systems.
  • Lead root cause analysis efforts and facilitate cross-functional problem-solving teams to resolve chronic reliability issues.
  • Support optimization of mechanical systems including hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, and related equipment.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of two years of manufacturing, engineering, project engineering, or project management experience.
  • Experience managing capital projects, equipment installations, or process improvement initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical equipment design and implementation.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
  • Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential and ability to work independently.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements.
