Job Description

  • Prepare detailed MEP estimates covering mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and low‑voltage systems from conceptual design through GMP.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs, system analysis, and cost modeling across all MEP scopes.
  • Review drawings, specifications, narratives, and existing conditions to identify scope gaps, risks, and assumptions.
  • Lead subcontractor outreach for MEP trades, including bid solicitation, scope definition, leveling, and analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, consultants, and internal project teams on constructability and design coordination.
  • Participate in value engineering, first‑cost vs. lifecycle cost analysis, and alternate system evaluations.
  • Support proposal development, estimate reviews, client presentations, and handoffs to operations.
  • Maintain and contribute to historical cost data, benchmarking tools, and estimating standards.
  • Assist senior staff in mentoring junior estimators or engineers as applicable.

The Successful Applicant

  • 3-8+ years of experience estimating MEP systems on commercial or institutional construction projects.
  • Strong technical understanding of HVAC, electrical distribution, lighting, fire protection, controls, and low‑voltage systems.
  • Experience with large, MEP‑intensive projects such as healthcare, higher education, mission‑critical, or advanced technology facilities.
  • Ability to clearly communicate estimating assumptions and risks at early design phases.
  • Proficiency with digital takeoff and estimating tools (Bluebeam, Excel‑based models, and related platforms).
  • Strong collaboration skills with design teams, trade partners, and internal leadership.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.



What's on Offer

  • Base Salary: $100,000 - $145,000
  • Total Compensation (with bonus): $120,000 - $175,000
  • Annual Bonus: 10-20% (performance‑based)
  • Additional Compensation: May include profit‑sharing or long‑term incentive components depending on project volume and role level
