Our client, a leading interiors General Contractor in Manhattan, is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee high-end retail fit-out, renovation, and brand rollout projects throughout New York City. This role offers the opportunity to manage fast-paced retail construction projects from preconstruction through closeout while working with some of the most recognizable retail brands in the market.

Job Description

    • Manage retail interior construction projects from award to completion.
    • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and procurement plans.
    • Coordinate subcontractors, architects, consultants, landlords, and client stakeholders.
    • Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates.
    • Review and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
    • Monitor project financials and ensure profitability objectives are met.
    • Conduct site visits to ensure quality, safety, and schedule compliance.
    • Identify and mitigate project risks while maintaining client satisfaction.
    • Oversee project closeout, punch lists, and turnover packages.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Project Manager should have:

    • 5+ years of Project Management experience with a General Contractor.
    • Proven experience delivering retail interior construction projects in Manhattan or the wider NYC market.
    • Strong understanding of retail fit-outs, store renovations, and tenant improvement projects.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced environments with aggressive deadlines.
    • Strong knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, contract administration, and cost control.
    • Excellent communication and client management skills.
    • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar construction management software.
    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
