Job Description

    • Manage all phases of public construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
    • Oversee project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, procurement, and contract administration.
    • Coordinate with public agencies including DDC, DASNY, SCA, NYCHA, and other government bodies.
    • Lead project meetings with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors.
    • Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and project reporting.
    • Monitor project costs, forecasting, and financial performance to ensure profitability.
    • Ensure compliance with public sector regulations, contract requirements, prevailing wage requirements, and safety standards.
    • Identify project risks and implement solutions to maintain project objectives.
    • Manage field teams and provide leadership throughout the construction lifecycle.
    • Drive successful project turnover and closeout documentation.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Project Manager should have:

    • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager within the construction industry.
    • Proven experience managing public works projects throughout New York City.
    • Direct experience working with agencies such as DDC, DASNY, SCA, NYCHA, MTA, or similar public entities.
    • Strong understanding of public bidding, government procurement, and public contract administration.
    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline preferred.
    • Excellent knowledge of construction scheduling, budgeting, and project controls.
    • Experience with Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
    • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a highly regulated environment.
    • NYC construction experience and familiarity with local codes and regulations strongly preferred.
