This is a newly created Operations Excellence Manager position for an experienced construction professional who is passionate about process improvement, project controls, reporting, and operational excellence. You'll work across all projects to establish standards, improve performance, drive Procore governance, and create scalable systems that support the company's continued growth.

Job Description

We're seeking a seasoned construction professional who thrives on process improvement, operational excellence, and building scalable systems. This role sits at the intersection of project execution and operations, partnering closely with leadership and project teams to standardise processes, improve reporting, and enhance project performance across the organisation.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys being involved in project lifecycles without carrying the day-to-day responsibilities of project management.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Develop, implement, and maintain company-wide Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Create scalable playbooks, frameworks, and best practices that support business growth.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement solutions to improve consistency and execution.
  • Establish governance standards and ensure alignment across all project teams.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve workflows, reporting structures, and operational processes.



Project Controls & Compliance

  • Conduct project audits and health assessments to ensure adherence to company standards.
  • Monitor compliance with established project controls processes and procedures.
  • Support project teams by identifying gaps, recommending improvements, and sharing best practices.
  • Ensure project teams leverage Procore effectively and consistently.
  • Partner with Operations and Project Executives to improve project delivery and accountability.



Reporting & Performance Metrics

  • Develop and manage monthly, quarterly, and executive-level reporting.
  • Track and analyse key project performance indicators and operational metrics.
  • Create reporting frameworks that provide visibility into project health and performance.
  • Support leadership with KPI dashboards, benchmarking initiatives, and operational reviews.
  • Drive continuous enhancements to reporting capabilities and data integrity.



Technology & Systems Leadership

  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert for Procore processes and governance.
  • Champion best practices across construction technology platforms.
  • Utilise P6 and Bluebeam to support project controls initiatives.
  • Assist with implementation and optimisation of tools such as OpenSpace, Outbuild, and Compass.
  • Ensure technology platforms are being used consistently and effectively across projects.



Strategic Leadership Support

  • Partner with executive leadership on quarterly project reviews and operational assessments.
  • Support annual operational excellence initiatives and long-term business planning.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on project and performance data.
  • Contribute to future organisational structure, process development, and operational strategy.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Operations Excellence Manager should have:

  • 10+ years of construction industry experience.
  • Background in project management, operations, estimating, project controls, project accounting, project controls, or architectural project management.
  • Experience working across a diverse portfolio of project types and delivery methods.
  • Strong understanding of construction operations, project execution, and performance management.
  • Advanced knowledge of Procore, with experience serving as a power user or super user.
  • Experience using Primavera P6 and Bluebeam.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and process improvement capabilities.
  • Proven ability to develop SOPs, workflows, and scalable operational systems.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Self-motivated, highly organised, and capable of working independently.
  • Passion for operational excellence, continuous improvement, and driving organisational consistency.
  • Experience with process improvement and operational efficiency in the construction or property industry.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify and address operational challenges.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities to drive change and inspire teams.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance standards in construction.
  • A track record of implementing successful improvement initiatives.
