With a strong project pipeline, collaborative culture, and mission-driven approach, they are transforming the built environment through advanced energy and resiliency initiatives.Job DescriptionThe Preconstruction Director - Energy Infrastructure - DC Metro will:Lead all preconstruction activities from project pursuit through project turnover, providing strategic direction across estimating, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and execution planning.Develop conceptual, schematic, design development, and GMP estimates for complex energy infrastructure, MEP, and design-build projects while validating pricing, contingencies, escalation assumptions, and project risks.Partner with executive leadership, business development, engineering, and operations teams to evaluate opportunities, support project pursuits, and develop winning project strategies.Drive proposal development, client presentations, contract negotiations, and go/no-go decision-making for new project opportunities.Establish and continuously improve preconstruction processes, tools, standards, and best practices to support company growth and operational excellence.Lead value engineering efforts, constructability reviews, and design coordination activities to optimize project performance, minimize risk, and maximize client value.Develop procurement strategies for major equipment, subcontractors, and trade partners while overseeing bid solicitation, scope leveling, vendor evaluations, and contract negotiations.Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and strategic partners nationwide.Identify and mitigate risks related to scope, design, schedule, constructability, procurement, and market conditions throughout project development.Facilitate seamless project handoffs to operations and construction teams, ensuring alignment between project planning and execution.Mentor and develop preconstruction and estimating professionals while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Support organizational growth initiatives through team development, hiring efforts, and leadership of a high-performing preconstruction function.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
