Job Description

  • Oversee daily production operations to achieve targets related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost efficiency
  • Lead, develop, and manage production teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Establish and prioritize manufacturing schedules based on customer demand, capacity, and operational constraints
  • Monitor production metrics and performance data to identify inefficiencies and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams to optimize workflows and resource utilization
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards, as well as quality management systems
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other structured methodologies
  • Develop long-term production strategies, including capital planning and process enhancements
  • Manage staffing, hiring, training, and performance evaluations within the department
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities to ensure on-time delivery and operational alignment

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing or production leadership roles
  • Proven ability to lead teams in high-volume, fast-paced production environments
  • Strong background in production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Expertise in analyzing performance metrics and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Familiarity with safety and quality standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO, or similar frameworks)
  • Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor teams and develop future leaders
