Job Description

  • Review production schedules, work orders, and staffing requirements to determine material and labor priorities
  • Coordinate with department supervisors and cross-functional teams to assess work progress and completion timelines
  • Monitor work processes and materials to ensure accuracy, completeness, and conformance to specifications
  • Revise production schedules as needed due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other disruptions
  • Coordinate production and shipping activities with internal teams, vendors, and customers to prevent delays
  • Track and record production data including output, material usage, and quality metrics
  • Maintain and requisition inventory levels required to meet production demands
  • Load and maintain system data to support fabrication scheduling (BOMs, item master data, capacity planning, etc.)
  • Utilize an MRP/ERP system to manage and maintain production and inventory data
  • Compile production, inventory, and customer information for status reporting
  • Calculate labor requirements, material needs, and manufacturing-related costs
  • Distribute production schedules and work orders to appropriate departments
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and safety
  • Guide and support entry-level employees as needed
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

The Successful Applicant

A successful Production Scheduler / Production Coordinator should have:Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Additional related experience and/or training preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience



Skills

  • Strong time management and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong customer orientation
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment



Experience

  • Familiarity with bills of materials and shop orders
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment preferred



Computer Skills

  • Strong computer proficiency
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar business applications
