Job Description

  • Coordinate heavy civil construction projects, including roads, highways, bridges, tunnels, utilities, site development, and earthwork operations.
  • Support project managers and engineering teams with planning, scheduling, budgeting, and overall project execution.
  • Track project progress, milestones, and deliverables to ensure work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, permits, contracts, and progress reports.
  • Collaborate with owners, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to facilitate project activities.
  • Assist with procurement and material management for construction equipment, aggregates, concrete, steel, piping, and utility components.
  • Monitor compliance with project specifications, engineering drawings, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate field operations and communicate daily construction activities between office and site personnel.
  • Support cost control efforts by tracking budgets, forecasts, labor productivity, and project expenditures.
  • Participate in project meetings and prepare status updates, meeting minutes, and action-item tracking.
  • Help identify and resolve construction, design, scheduling, and logistical challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety requirements while supporting successful project delivery of large-scale infrastructure and engineering projects.

The Successful Applicant

  • Proven experience coordinating heavy civil construction and infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, highways, utilities, site development, and earthworks.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methodologies, drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple project priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Experience supporting project planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and cost-control activities.
  • Knowledge of construction administration processes, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, contracts, and permitting requirements.
  • Skilled at coordinating with project managers, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives.
  • Proficient in project management and scheduling software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills with the ability to maintain accurate project records and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to track project progress, identify risks, and help resolve construction and engineering challenges.
  • Familiarity with quality control procedures, regulatory requirements, and applicable construction standards.
  • Solid understanding of construction safety practices and commitment to promoting a safe work environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively coordinate between field and office teams.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
  • Capable of interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications, and construction schedules.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative project team.
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
