Job Description

The Project Engineer's Key Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with subcontractors and vendors throughout the bidding process while helping develop detailed project scopes.
  • Support Project Managers with RFIs, submittals, change orders, budgets, schedules, and overall project documentation.
  • Coordinate closely with Superintendents, subcontractors, and project teams to keep projects moving efficiently.
  • Visit jobsites as needed to stay connected to field operations and provide hands-on project support.
  • Play a key role in keeping projects organized, on budget, on schedule, and set up for success.

The Successful Applicant

The Successful Project Engineer:

  • 1-5 years of experience working with a General Contractor in a construction environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage construction administration and document control.
  • Prepare, track, and distribute submittal schedules and project documentation.
  • Support the Project Manager with change orders, subcontractor scheduling, invoicing, and monthly job cost reviews.
  • Work alongside the Superintendent on RFIs, QA/QC documentation, and day-to-day field operations.
  • Assist with preconstruction activities, including estimating, takeoffs, and quantity calculations.
  • Manage closeout documentation, punch lists, and final project requirements.
