Job Description

The Project Engineer's Key Responsibilities:

  • Own projects from the ground up with true cradle-to-grave exposure-from preconstruction and buyout through field execution and final turnover
  • Work shoulder-to-shoulder with the PM and Superintendent, gaining hands-on experience managing complex commercial projects
  • Take ownership of critical project controls, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, cost tracking, and closeout
  • Drive project coordination across owners, subcontractors, project management, and field teams to keep scope, schedule, and quality on track
  • Fast-track your path to Project Manager by building the field and operational experience needed to ultimately run your own projects

The Successful Applicant

The Successful Project Engineer:

  • 1-5 years of General Contractor experience with a foundation in commercial construction
  • Strong knowledge of construction administration, document control, and project coordination
  • Hands-on experience owning RFIs, submittals, project documentation, and tracking logs
  • Ability to support PMs with change orders, subcontractor coordination, invoicing, and job cost tracking
  • Exposure to preconstruction and estimating, including takeoffs and quantity calculations
  • Experience driving punch list, closeout, and final project turnover
  • Hungry, hands-on, and growth-driven, with the ambition to step into a Project Manager role and ultimately run projects independently
