Job Description

  • Lead commercial construction projects from contract award through completion and owner turnover.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and overall project performance.
  • Coordinate with preconstruction, estimating, field operations, and leadership teams to ensure project success.
  • Review plans, specifications, contracts, and project documentation to support effective execution.
  • Identify project risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Manage project budgets, profitability, cost reporting, and financial forecasting.
  • Oversee billings, change orders, payment applications, and cost control processes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and key stakeholders.
  • Lead project meetings and provide clear, consistent project updates.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships that drive repeat business opportunities.
  • Partner with Superintendents to align office and field activities and maintain project momentum.
  • Mentor Assistant Project Managers and support team development.
  • Negotiate, administer, and manage subcontractor agreements and performance.
  • Coordinate procurement activities to ensure materials and equipment are available on schedule.
  • Resolve project challenges through effective communication, leadership, and problem-solving.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee project closeout activities, including punch lists, warranties, and final documentation.

The Successful Applicant

A Successful Project Manager should have:

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience in commercial construction.
  • Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Experience managing projects ranging from renovations to ground-up construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Experience with municipal, public sector, healthcare, federal, or institutional construction projects.
  • Design-build project experience.
  • Familiarity with Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar project management software.
