Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead fast-paced commercial interior fit-out and renovation projects across New York City. This role is responsible for delivering projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.

About Our Client

Our client is a well-established and highly respected General Contractor with a strong reputation in the New York City construction market. Specializing in commercial interiors, workplace renovations, corporate fit-outs, and tenant improvement projects, they have built a portfolio of successful projects for leading corporations, developers, property managers, and institutional clients throughout the city. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are looking to add an experienced Project Manager to their team.

Job Description

    • Manage commercial interior construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
    • Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and financial forecasts.
    • Oversee subcontractor procurement, contract administration, and performance.
    • Lead project meetings with clients, architects, consultants, and field teams.
    • Monitor project progress and proactively mitigate risks, delays, and cost impacts.
    • Coordinate project documentation, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and permits.
    • Ensure projects are delivered safely and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
    • Work closely with Superintendents to maintain project schedules and quality expectations.
    • Provide regular project reporting to senior leadership and clients.
    • Foster strong client relationships and identify opportunities for repeat business.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Project Manager - Commercial Interiors should have:

    • 5+ years of Project Management experience with a General Contractor.
    • Proven track record delivering commercial interiors and tenant fit-out projects in New York City.
    • Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, budgeting, and project controls.
    • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in fast-paced environments.
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
    • Ability to review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
    • Proficient with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
    • Knowledge of NYC building regulations, permitting, and local construction practices is highly desirable.
