Job Description

The Project Manager - Federal/Commercial - D.C. will be responsible for:

  • Managing all phases of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between clients, field teams, subcontractors, consultants, and company leadership.
  • Leading project planning, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, procurement, and overall project execution.
  • Developing, maintaining, and analyzing CPM schedules, including updates and schedule impact assessments.
  • Overseeing subcontractor buyout, procurement, contract administration, performance, and coordination.
  • Managing project financials, including cost control, forecasting, invoicing, pay applications, and profitability tracking.
  • Administering change orders, project documentation, and contract compliance requirements.
  • Coordinating material procurement and equipment deliveries to support project schedules.
  • Monitoring jobsite safety, quality control, and project performance to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and key stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolving project risks, conflicts, and challenges in a proactive manner.
  • Providing leadership, mentorship, and support to project engineers and other project team members.

The Successful Applicant

The Project Manager - Federal/Commercial - D.C. should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of construction project management experience.
  • Experience managing complex commercial, institutional, healthcare, higher education, government, or federal construction projects preferred.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Primavera P6, and other construction management software.
  • Strong understanding of CPM scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and project financial management.
  • Experience with subcontractor buyouts, procurement, contract administration, and change order management.
  • Knowledge of project documentation, reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated leadership, team management, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to pass a federal background investigation.
  • Ability to pass a drug screening and motor vehicle record review if applicable.
  • Financial and credit review may be conducted, including bankruptcy screening for Project Manager-level candidates.
