Job Description

  • Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction, design coordination, and procurement through project closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting to ensure profitability goals are achieved.
  • Create and manage project schedules, staffing plans, and resource allocation strategies.
  • Lead subcontractor procurement, negotiations, and contract administration activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with superintendents and field teams to ensure project execution aligns with quality, safety, budget, and schedule requirements.
  • Monitor project performance and proactively address risks, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Oversee both Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build project delivery methods.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of client satisfaction.
  • Support ongoing business growth by contributing to repeat business opportunities and client development efforts.

The Successful Applicant

  • 7-15+ years of progressive construction project management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
  • Proven experience managing commercial construction projects valued at $5M+.
  • Strong financial management experience including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and reporting.
  • Experience delivering ground-up commercial construction projects.
  • Working knowledge of structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and general building systems.
  • Experience managing both Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build projects.
  • Strong client-facing communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to travel throughout Massachusetts and New England as project needs require.
  • Experience with Procore or similar construction management software preferred.
  • Background with academic, higher education, life science, utility, equipment building, or other commercial construction projects strongly preferred.
