Our client is a well-established and highly respected General Contractor with a longstanding reputation for delivering complex commercial and light industrial construction projects throughout the Chicagoland market. With a strong backlog of work and decades of success, they are known for their commitment to quality, safety, client satisfaction, and employee development. Their portfolio includes distribution facilities, manufacturing plants, warehouses, cold storage facilities, processing facilities, and other industrial construction projects.

Job Description

  • Lead multiple light industrial construction projects from inception through completion.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Oversee contract administration, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
  • Collaborate with Superintendents to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
  • Participate in preconstruction activities including estimating reviews, value engineering, and procurement planning.
  • Conduct subcontractor buyout and manage subcontract agreements.
  • Monitor project safety, quality control, and compliance requirements.
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates to clients and company leadership.
  • Manage project closeout, punch lists, warranties, and turnover documentation.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience with a General Contractor.
  • Proven experience managing light industrial projects including warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, cold storage, processing facilities, or related project types.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, budgeting, scheduling, and project controls.
  • Experience using Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar construction software.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
