Job Description

The Project Manager will:

  • Represent clients as the primary project leader and trusted advisor throughout planning, design, construction, and closeout.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously across workplace, education, healthcare, multifamily, cultural, media, and private club sectors.
  • Develop and maintain project scope, schedules, budgets, and overall project execution strategies.
  • Lead procurement efforts, including RFQ/RFP coordination, contractor selection, and contract negotiations.
  • Facilitate project meetings and provide clear communication among owners, architects, contractors, consultants, and vendors.
  • Identify project risks early and implement mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Coordinate and oversee contractors, consultants, and project teams to drive successful project outcomes.
  • Review and manage invoices, purchase orders, change orders, and financial reporting.
  • Maintain project documentation, meeting minutes, due diligence records, and decision logs.
  • Prepare and deliver project status reports, dashboards, and key project metrics for clients and stakeholders.
  • Utilize project management tools and technology platforms to track schedules, budgets, and project performance.
  • Support business development initiatives, client presentations, interviews, and project pursuits.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and industry partners.
  • Meet individual performance objectives while contributing to overall company growth and revenue goals.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Project Manager should have:

  • Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction project management, owner's representation, general contracting, commercial real estate development, or a related industry.
  • Strong understanding of project planning, design, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, construction administration, delivery, and closeout.
  • Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings, including furniture plans.
  • Experience managing commercial construction projects and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong client-facing communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to manage project scope, schedule, budget, and risk.
  • Proficiency with project management technology and reporting tools.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel throughout the DC Metro area.
  • Must currently reside within the DMV region and be within reasonable commuting distance of Old Town Alexandria.
