We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the execution of high-voltage Power Delivery projects, including transmission lines, substations, and utility infrastructure. This individual will manage projects from engineering through construction, ensuring safe, on-time, and on-budget delivery while serving as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and internal teams.

Our client is a well-established engineering and consulting firm specializing in electric utility infrastructure. They partner with investor-owned utilities, municipalities, cooperatives, renewable energy developers, and industrial clients to deliver critical transmission and substation projects that support grid modernization, renewable integration, and system reliability.

Job Description

  • Manage multiple transmission, distribution, and substation projects from initiation through closeout.
  • Oversee construction activities for projects ranging from 69kV to 500kV.
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project closeout activities.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and resource plans.
  • Lead meetings with clients, contractors, utility representatives, and internal project teams.
  • Monitor construction progress, identify project risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Review project scopes, contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and field reports.
  • Coordinate outage planning and construction sequencing with utility clients.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, utility safety standards, environmental regulations, and company procedures.
  • Manage subcontractors and construction contractors throughout project execution.
  • Track project financial performance, including budgets, invoicing, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Provide regular project status updates to leadership and clients.
  • Support business development efforts by identifying additional project opportunities and maintaining strong client relationships.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Project Manager - Power Delivery (Construction) should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field (preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience managing electric utility or power delivery projects.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing construction of transmission lines and/or substations.
  • Experience managing projects within investor-owned utilities, engineering consulting firms, EPC contractors, or utility contractors.
  • Strong understanding of utility construction practices, scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration.
  • Experience with projects ranging from 69kV-500kV.
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or other scheduling software is preferred.
  • PMP certification is a plus.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
