This role requires extensive experience managing projects subject to New York State Wicks Law, including coordination of multiple prime contractors, contract administration, scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder management.

Our client is a growing New York-based construction management firm specializing in public sector, institutional, educational, healthcare, and municipal construction projects. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in New York State public construction projects and Wicks Law compliance to join our team.

Job Description

  • Manage all phases of construction projects, including pre-construction, bidding, construction, and project closeout.
  • Oversee projects governed by New York State Wicks Law and coordinate multiple prime contractors, including General Construction, HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing trades.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, risk registers, and reporting requirements.
  • Facilitate project meetings with owners, architects, engineers, contractors, and governmental agencies.
  • Review and manage contractor schedules, submittals, RFIs, change orders, payment applications, and contract compliance.
  • Monitor project progress, quality control, safety performance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with New York State labor laws, prevailing wage requirements, MWBE participation goals, and public procurement regulations.
  • Prepare and present project status reports to clients and senior leadership.
  • Coordinate project inspections, punch lists, commissioning activities, and final project closeout documentation.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of project management experience in commercial, institutional, educational, healthcare, or public-sector construction.
  • Demonstrated experience managing Wicks Law projects within New York State.
