About Our Client

My Client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee complex heavy civil, utility, water, wastewater, underground infrastructure, and microtunneling projects throughout New York City and the surrounding metropolitan region.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple heavy civil and underground utility projects from award through closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, forecasts, and cost controls.
  • Lead project teams including Superintendents, Engineers, Foremen, and subcontractors.
  • Review contract documents, drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Manage change orders, claims, risk mitigation, and procurement activities.
  • Coordinate with public agencies including NYC DEP, DDC, DOT, MTA, Port Authority, and utility owners.
  • Monitor project productivity, equipment utilization, and labor performance.
  • Lead client meetings and provide regular project reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Review RFIs, submittals, permits, work plans, and schedule updates.
  • Collaborate with estimating and executive leadership on project planning and execution strategies.
  • Support trenchless, tunneling, shaft construction, and microtunneling operations as required.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Project Manager should have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • 8+ years of heavy civil or utility construction experience.
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience.
  • Experience managing projects valued between $5M and $100M+.
  • Strong knowledge of underground utilities, water, sewer, transportation, or trenchless construction.
  • Experience with public agency projects and contract administration.
  • Proficient with CPM scheduling, project controls, and cost forecasting.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • NYC DEP/DDC experience.
