Job Description

  • Lead and develop a team of purchasing professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management.
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies that support operational goals, cost optimization, quality standards, and supply continuity.
  • Manage supplier relationships, performance metrics, and contract negotiations to ensure competitive pricing and reliable service.
  • Identify and implement strategic sourcing opportunities across direct materials, components, and purchased services.
  • Collaborate closely with operations, engineering, production, quality, and finance teams to support business objectives.
  • Drive supplier development initiatives and proactively manage supply chain risks.
  • Evaluate make-versus-buy opportunities and support sourcing decisions for engineered and manufactured components.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on procurement processes, inventory optimization, supplier performance, and cost reduction.
  • Monitor market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry developments to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or materials management experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior leadership experience managing purchasing teams.
  • Strong background in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, vendor management, and contract administration.
  • Demonstrated success improving supplier performance and driving cost savings initiatives.
  • Ability to build strong relationships across all levels of an organization and with external suppliers.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems and procurement best practices.
  • Experience supporting highly regulated or technical manufacturing environments is a plus.
  • Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent are advantageous.
