Job Description

  • Lead quality activities throughout the NPI process, from design transfer through production launch
  • Support design reviews to ensure quality, manufacturability, and compliance requirements are defined early
  • Develop and execute quality plans, including control plans, PFMEA, and inspection strategies
  • Oversee First Article Inspection (FAI) processes in accordance with AS9102 or customer requirements
  • Drive risk identification and mitigation using tools such as PFMEA, risk registers, and design validation
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure process capability and production readiness
  • Ensure proper validation of processes, equipment, and inspection methods (IQ/OQ/PQ as applicable)
  • Partner with suppliers to support qualification, PPAP submissions, and incoming quality requirements
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for issues identified during development and launch phases
  • Establish inspection criteria and ensure alignment with engineering drawings and GD&T requirements
  • Support internal and customer audits related to new product introduction activities
  • Monitor key launch metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives

The Successful Applicant

  • 3-7+ years of experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing or production environment
  • Hands-on experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), product launches, or design transfer
  • Strong knowledge of quality tools such as PFMEA, control plans, SPC, and root cause methodologies (8D, 5-Why)
  • Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) and validation activities (PPAP or similar processes)
  • Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Familiar with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 standards (industry-specific experience a plus)
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work cross-functionally across engineering, operations, and supply chain
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving mindset and strong analytical skills
  • Capable of managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Effective communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive quality initiatives
  • Comfortable working both independently and hands-on within manufacturing environments
