About Our Client

Our client is a vertically integrated manufacturing business that produces paper‑based packaging solutions, specializing in containerboard and corrugated products used for shipping and industrial applications. The organization typically operates a network of mills and converting facilities, enabling it to control the process from raw material sourcing through finished packaging production. It serves a diverse customer base across sectors such as consumer goods, food and beverage, and e‑commerce, focusing on high‑volume, cost‑efficient output, supply chain reliability, and continuous operational improvement.

Job Description

  • Lead and manage the Quality Control team, establishing clear expectations and accountability.
  • Design, implement, and sustain the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring ISO 9001 compliance.
  • Provide training and mentorship to employees on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service, Design, and Operations to align processes with customer requirements.
  • Act as the primary liaison between customers and production to address quality issues and enhance satisfaction.
  • Oversee the New Product Introduction (NPI) process to support successful product launches.
  • Manage quality issue resolution, including containment, root cause analysis, CAPA, and validation of corrective actions.
  • Drive adoption of QA and QC methodologies such as IQC, IPQC, OQC, and SCP.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts using tools like 5S, SMED, G8D, PPAP, Visual Management, and waste reduction initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, promoting quality improvements and key initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and certification requirements, including AIB, REACH, RoHS, cGMP, and Prop 65.
  • Oversee sustainability and Chain of Custody programs (FSC, SFI, PEFC).
  • Support product and food safety programs, audits, and material certification processes.
  • Manage color control processes to maintain consistency and quality standards.
  • Promote adherence to Code of Conduct and Social Responsibility programs.
  • Leverage data and analytics to identify trends, solve complex issues, and drive overall performance improvements.

The Successful Applicant

  • ISO 9001 QMS experience
  • Root Cause Analysis, CAPA experience
  • Continuous Improvement experience
  • Corrugated packaging experience is strongly preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
  • SQF, AIB certifications preferred
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
