Job Description

  • Lead and support the development of cable and cable assembly products for medical and healthcare applications.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to evaluate new projects, define requirements, and identify technical risks.
  • Provide technical expertise during new business assessments, quotation reviews, and project feasibility evaluations.
  • Manage new product development projects from concept through qualification and production implementation.
  • Solve engineering and manufacturing challenges associated with cable and assembly designs, materials, tooling, and processes.
  • Coordinate activities across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and commercial teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Prepare and contribute to DFM analyses, FMEAs, cost evaluations, process development activities, and design reviews.
  • Support product qualification, validation, and transfer into a production environment while maintaining quality and compliance requirements.
  • Develop technical documentation, including BOMs, routing information, work instructions, and process-related records.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvement, and manufacturing automation.
  • Support equipment selection, capital investment projects, and prototyping capabilities.
  • Work closely with suppliers, consultants, and external partners to support development activities.
  • Deliver technical presentations and training to customers, sales personnel, and internal teams.
  • Participate in contract reviews and provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

The Successful Applicant

  • Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Hands-on experience within cable assemblies, wire and cable manufacturing, catheter assembly, or a closely related product environment.
  • Previous experience supporting medical device products, components, or regulated manufacturing industries.
  • Strong understanding of cable design, connectors, materials, tooling, fixturing, extrusion, molding, and assembly processes.
  • Experience developing and implementing automated manufacturing solutions.
  • Knowledge of quality systems and regulated manufacturing requirements.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing documentation including BOMs, routers, work instructions, process maps, PFMEAs, and costing systems.
  • Functional proficiency using CAD software for design review and product development activities.
  • Proven project management experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • Experience collaborating with suppliers, equipment vendors, and external technical partners.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while driving projects to completion.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance technical requirements, business objectives, quality expectations, and timelines.
