Job Description

As a Regional Sales Manager, you will:

  • Manage and grow an established sales territory across the western United States and western Canada.
  • Develop and execute territory growth strategies to exceed annual revenue targets.
  • Lead direct sales activity while supporting channel partner development and performance.
  • Build strong relationships with distributors, end users, maintenance professionals, and reliability engineers.
  • Conduct customer presentations, product demonstrations, and commercial discussions.
  • Collaborate with channel partners on joint sales calls and strategic account development.
  • Identify and convert new business opportunities within mining, industrial, transportation, agriculture, municipal, and power generation sectors.
  • Drive growth within both existing accounts and targeted new customer segments.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and accurately forecast opportunities.
  • Work closely with senior sales leadership to develop territory expansion plans.
  • Travel extensively throughout the region to support customers and channel partners.
  • Deliver quarterly and annual sales objectives while maintaining strong customer satisfaction.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal Regional Sales Manager will possess:

  • Proven quota-carrying sales experience within analytical instrumentation, industrial equipment, technical products, or capital equipment markets.
  • Experience managing distributors, resellers, channel partners, or manufacturer representative networks.
  • Demonstrated success growing territories and achieving double-digit revenue growth.
  • Strong business development and hunting skills with the ability to generate new opportunities.
  • Experience selling products or systems with deal values ranging from approximately $50,000 to $350,000.
  • Ability to conduct technical sales presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Familiarity with industrial maintenance, reliability programmes, condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, or related environments.
  • Strong organisational and territory management capabilities.
  • Self-motivated, independent, and results-driven approach.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage long sales cycles ranging from 9 to 18 months.
  • Willingness to travel 40-60% throughout the territory.
  • Residence within one hour of a major airport.
  • Must be located outside California.
