Save Job Back to Search Job Description Summary Similar JobsTop Civil Construction Company in the Tri-State AreaFully Remote Work OpportunityAbout Our ClientThe Resident Engineer will serve as the primary technical lead and client representative, overseeing multidisciplinary design teams, ensuring compliance with NJDOT, PennDOT, FHWA, and local agency standards, and driving projects from conceptual development through final design and construction support.Job DescriptionKey ResponsibilitiesLead the planning, design, and delivery of heavy civil transportation infrastructure projects.Serve as Engineer of Record for transportation design projects requiring professional engineering certification.Manage multidisciplinary teams including roadway, bridge, traffic, drainage, geotechnical, and utility design personnel.Oversee project development from feasibility studies and preliminary engineering through final design and bid package preparation.Ensure compliance with NJDOT, PennDOT, AASHTO, MUTCD, FHWA, and applicable municipal design standards.Review and approve roadway geometry, traffic control plans, drainage systems, grading, signing and striping, and construction staging concepts.Coordinate with transportation agencies, municipalities, utility companies, transit authorities, and other stakeholders.Manage project schedules, budgets, scope, and resource allocation.Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews of engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and technical reports.Participate in client meetings, public presentations, agency coordination meetings, and technical workshops.Provide engineering support during bidding and construction phases, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and evaluating design modifications.Mentor and develop junior engineers, designers, and project staff.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
