The Senior RF Engineer will be responsible for the mechanical design and development of complex, multi‑function RF and microwave assemblies. This role supports the full product lifecycle-from early conceptual layouts through detailed design, prototype build, and transition to production-working closely with RF/Electrical Engineering, Test, Manufacturing, Quality, and Procurement teams in a fast‑paced environment.

Job Description



Responsibilities:

  • Design mechanical packaging, enclosures, and assemblies for RF/microwave microelectronic hardware
  • Support mechanical hardware development from conceptual design through detailed drawings and release
  • Collaborate with RF/Electrical Engineering to define and meet mechanical design requirements
  • Utilize CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD) to create new designs and modify existing components
  • Work closely with technicians to support prototype builds and engineering hardware assembly
  • Support manufacturing and operations teams during product transition into full‑rate production
  • Design fixtures and tooling to support testing and advanced manufacturing processes
  • Maintain and update engineering drawings, documentation, and design records
  • Provide hands‑on support in a dynamic, fast‑changing engineering environment

The Successful Applicant



Ideal Candidate:

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology (BSMET) or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of mechanical design/drafting experience, including time in a senior‑level role
  • Experience with electronic packaging, enclosures, and precision mechanical assemblies
  • Working knowledge of chip and wire assembly processes
  • Familiarity with RF/microwave packaging challenges and design constraints
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing practices for efficient mechanical fabrication
  • Comfortable supporting design through procurement, manufacturing, and production
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across disciplines
  • Creative problem solver who thrives in a fast‑paced engineering environment
