Job Description

  • Lead and enforce company-wide safety initiatives across bridge and heavy civil construction projects.
  • Conduct site inspections, safety audits, job hazard analyses, and incident investigations to identify and correct potential risks.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, client requirements, and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Develop, deliver, and maintain safety training programs, toolbox talks, and new hire orientations.
  • Partner with project managers, superintendents, and field personnel to integrate safety into all phases of construction operations.
  • Maintain safety documentation, regulatory records, and reporting requirements.
  • Monitor subcontractor safety performance and ensure consistent adherence to project safety standards.
  • Analyze safety trends, recommend corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary safety resource for field operations, providing guidance on safe work practices, equipment usage, and emergency response procedures.
  • Foster a proactive safety culture that emphasizes accountability, teamwork, and incident prevention.

The Successful Applicant

  • 5+ years of construction safety experience within bridge, heavy civil, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and construction best practices.
  • Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, investigations, and training programs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with field personnel, project management, clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel between project sites.
